Everton are in a process of creating new team under the leadership of manager Marco Silva and director of football Marcel Brands. The Toffees have made some pretty big mistakes in the last few years in the transfer market and the duo is now trying to make changes at the club.
One of those moves that confirm those claims is that of Yannick Bolasie. The DR Congo international has left the club on the last day of the summer transfer window to join Sporting Lisbon on a season-long loan. Bolasie has had a tough time at Everton in the three years since his arrival from Crystal Palace, playing just 32 times in the blue shirt, whilst also going out on loans to Aston Villa and Anderlecht
The 30-year-old still has two years on his contract with Everton, but it looks like the Merseyside club will do everything they can to sell him. A good season at Sporting could help that cause.
