Juventus have already secured the services of Aaron Ramsey looking towards the 2019-20 season, but The Old Lady are still open to add another piece in the middle of the pitch. And they are reportedly looking at one of their former players, Paul Pogba, as their next summer target.
According to a report from Mirror, Juventus are desperate to lure the French World Cup winner back to Turin. Pogba spent four years with the Italian giants, where he joined as a free agent out of The Red Devils’ academy program but later moved back to Manchester United in 2016.
Pogba’s current situation at Old Trafford is quite strange, though. He was widely expected to leave the side – there were even talks of a potential January sale – had Jose Mourinho remained at the club. However, the Portuguese left and now Pogba has looked like a completely different player since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as caretaker United boss back in December last year.
The numbers don’t lie, and Pogba has six goals in his last six Premier League apperances for Manchester United. He was nowhere near those figures when he was playing under Mourinho’s guidance.
As things stand right now, it all depends on who will be the manager going forward. The 25-year-old playmaker might stay if Solskjaer stays but if someone else gets the nod, then we shouldn’t rule out the French’s exit. All signs indicate this will be a rumour that will remain alive for quite a while.
