One of the most promising players in Juventus will try to get some much-needed playing time elsewhere, at least until the end of the season.
According to a report from Sky Sports, winger Marko Pjaca has agreed to join Bundesliga side Schalke 04 on a season-long loan move in order to bolster his chances of playing on a regular basis, something that wasn’t happening at The Old Lady.
The 22-year-old winger also wants to gain a bigger role elsewhere with an eye towards the 2018 World Cup, as he is hoping to make the Croatia squad. The Balkan side will square with Argentina, Iceland and Nigeria in one of the toughest groups in the competition.
Pjaca joined Juventus at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, but suffered an ACL injury which ended his first season with the Serie A giants earlier than expected. He is 100% fit now, but has not had much space to play since he has to fight for minutes with players such as Douglas Costa, Juan Cuadrado, Federico Bernardeschi, and countryman Mario Mandzukic.
Wolfsburg were also keen to acquire as Pjaca, and there was interest from Italian and French clubs as well. But now the Croatia international will have a golden chance to prove his worth on German soil.
