Arsenal might be riding a good wave of form in the English Premier League at the moment, but one player that hasn’t been able to make an impact – or at least one as big as expected – has been Mesut Özil.
The former Germany international has been relegated to a secondary role within the Gunners during the past few months. There are rumours concering Ozil’s relationship with manager Unai Emery, as it is believed that the relationship isn’t as strong as many believe it should be. And that could lead to the German’s departure from the Emirates Stadium.
According to a report from The Sun, Inter Milan may offer the German midfielder an escape route. The Serie A giants are looking for a playmaker and Ozil would fit the mold, especially since his vision and creativity could create havoc on a league that’s as tight as the Serie A.
There are reasons to believe this deal might not become a reality, though. Ozil’s £350,000-a-week wages mean offloading the World Cup winner will not be easy and only a handful of sides in the world could afford him. But with the Serie A side being one of those, we might end up seeing Ozil playing for the Neroazzurri as soon as next January.
