Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was one of the biggest names in the transfer market this past summer. He was expected to be available, but in the end the Bundesliga giants held on to him.
There is no question he will be available once again once the current season ends. However, the 28-year-old Gabon international has already eliminated one league off his list. According to a report from Telefoot, Aubameyang said that playing in the English Premier League has never appealed to him.
“I was never tempted by the Premier League,” he said. “It’s simply a personal opinion.”
Aubameyang also added that staying in his current club was probably the best decision he could have made, saying the club “it’s my family”, and that is also “quite comfortable” with the way things have gone for the club this season. Dortmund sit at the top of the standings in the Bundesliga with 19 points after seven matches.
PSG, Manchester City and several Chinese clubs showed interest in Aubameyang over the summer after he netted 31 goals in the Bundesliga last season for Dortmund. But he chose to remain with the club, and so far has contributed with 13 goals in all competitions for Bundesliga-leaders Dortmund this season.
He is going to receive plenty of offers soon. But right now, it seems his future on a short- and long-term scenario are tied to Dortmund.
