Willian was the Man of the Match during Brazil’s comfortable 2-0 win over Mexico during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Round of 16, and the talented winger has seen his value rise through the roof in the last month due to his performances with La Selecao.
Several teams have been in alert due to Willian’s performances, and he has been tipped to leave Chelsea since both Manchester United and FC Barcelona are keen to make a move for the talented winger. But the latter are expected to make a strong push for the 29-year-old.
According to a report from Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea have set a huge asking price for the right winger. The Blues have reportedly placed a €80 million price tag on his shoulders, and that could scare potential suitors from making a deal. Barca have the funds, but they also must comply with the FIFA Financial Fair Play rules.
Per reports, neither Manchester United nor Barca are keen to pay that kind of money for a player that will soon be 30 years old, but Willian has been improving after each year in Chelsea. In fact, he has evolved into a key player in his five-year tenure at Stamford Bridge, and the Premier League giants are not ready to let him go just like that.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea decide to sell him or not. But the interest is clearly there if The Blues want to cash in on his talented attacking midfielder.
