West Ham chairman David Sullivan has told reporters the club have made a £25m bid for the England and Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, 29.

The forward has just won the Premier League with Leicester City against all odds, and now West Ham believe they can pull off a shock transfer against the odds and land the leagues top goal scorer.

The Hammers are desperate to land a marquee striker this summer ahead of their move to the Olympic Stadium.

Vardy has been in lethal form for Leicester this season scoring 24 goals in 34 games, and crowned football writers player of the year.

The striker has given no indication he wants to leave Leicester City, however the Hammers will offer to treble his current wage of £50,000 per week.
