There is no question Kai Havertz has been one of the top transfer targets for most of Europe’s top clubs during the past 12 months. Several teams, including Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, were keen to make a move for him during the past summer but Leverkusen opted not to move him.
However, that might change over the next few months. The Germany international is enjoying another strong start to the season, and even more teams are looking at the possibility to sign the coveted 20-year-old who won’t turn 21 until the end of the current campaign. The latest to join the race is reigning Ligue 1 champions PSG.
The French giants have been looking at attacking reinforcements over the past few months, perhaps knowing both Neymar and Edinson Cavani could be close to an exit. Havertz wouldn’t be a replacement for Cavani, but he can very well become Neymar’s replacement since he can operate all over the attacking third. He also works best as a playmaker located behind the attacking line.
A society between Havertz and Kylian Mbappe might sound promising. But PSG will have to battle with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, among others, for his signature. All signs point towards this transfer saga being one of the most popular ones during the upcoming transfer market.
