It’s not a secret that Wolverhampton have been looking to strengthen their midfield ahead of the January transfer window. Aside from the fact things have not gone as planned for the club at the Premier League, the potential Ruben Neves exit might force them to find an alternative bolster their midfield depth.
According to several reports, the Wolves are now interested to make a move for AC Milan star Franck Kessie. The Ivorian wants to play in the Champions League soon and he might feel Wolves are closer to accomplish that goal than Milan.
This is not the first time the Wolves have made an approach to acquire Kessie. They already tried to bring the Ivory Coast international during the summer, but they didn’t have enough to complete the move before the deadline.
Considering Wolves already made business with Milan over the transfer of Patrick Cutrone, we shouldn’t be surprised if they reach another agreement, this time to bring Kessie to Molineux. The Rossoneri have been keen to part ways with the talented midfielder in order to gain some fresh funds, and Wolves are very interested in acquiring him.
It seems this would be a move that would benefit for both parties. It only remains to be seen whether this time, both teams will be open to conclude what they couldn’t finish earlier this year.
