Inter Milan are interested in Mesut Ozil, who currently plays for Arsenal despite the fact The Gunners want to offload him as soon as possible. And the Premier League side is interested in Ivan Perisic, who plays for Inter but handed a transfer request this weekend… in order to facilitate a move to… you guessed it, the Premier League.

With that context, you would think both sides should agree to a deal rather easily. However, and despite the fact things are getting rather busy as the winter transfer market nears its completion, this hasn’t been the case and both parties have (so far) failed to agree to a deal.

Neither Inter nor Arsenal have money to spend in order to purchase new players, so a loan move for both players would make sense. But the problem is that Inter Milan are only willing to “sell” Perisic, and they don’t have enough money to pay Ozil anything remotely close to the £350,000 the German is currently earning in his most-recent deal with the Gunners.

The ideal scenario for both parties would be to agree on loan deals for the respective players. But the lack of money – and the lack of creativity to find other alternatives to get the deal done – could see both players remain on their respective teams until the end of the season.

Clearly, that’s not what neither Inter nor Arsenal want. But there are not many developments expected to occur in the coming days.
