FC Barcelona currently have one of the most dangerous attacking lines in the world, anchored by Lionel Messi but featuring Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suarez as well. However, the Uruguayan is a seasoned veteran who is already 32, and he is quickly getting past his prime. Los Blaugranas do not want to waste time, and are already analyzing alternatives for a long-term replacement.

With that in mind, the reigning Liga champions are considering several alternatives but one generates consensus among the Board of Directors and the coaching staff. According to a report from Spanish outlet AS, Los Blaugranas are doubling their efforts to scout Inter Milan’s striker Lautaro Martinez. They sent people to watch him earlier this week in the UEFA Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

The Argentina international, who has scored nine goals in 15 appearances with La Albiceleste, is seen at the Camp Nou as the perfect replacement for Suarez, especially considering he is only 22 and already playing at a very high level. Plus, he is already used to play alongside Messi since both feature regularly for the Argentina National Team. That should be a plus as well.

Martinez is not the only name Barcelona are scouting, though. They are also interested in Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) and Harry Kane (Tottenham), although Martinez seems to be at the top of the shortlist.
