Manchester United are expected to be one of the most active teams in the transfer market once the January window rolls around. Even though The Red Devils have been linked with several players, one name has already stood as a potential January target for the Premier League giants.

According to a report from Sky Sports News, Manchester United are prepared to pay £52m for Roma and Italy midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo. However, they are not expected to be the only team interested in acquiring the coveted 20-year-old.

Per reports, Zaniolo would also be a target for PSG, although the Ligue 1 side only sees him as a potential replacement and long-term piece in case they lose Neymar or Kylian Mbappe this next summer. Meanwhile, he could be a building block right away for United.

Either way, Zaniolo seems ready to make a big leap forward once the current season comes to an end. An exciting prospect ever since he was a teenager, he has already become one of the most exciting prospects in the Serie A and all signs point towards him leaving for greener pastures as soon as a decent offer arrives to Rome.

Zaniolo is under contract with the Giallorossi until the end of the 2023-2024 season. Therefore, United must be ready to spend a big chunk of money if they want to acquire the promising 20-year-old attacking midfielder.
