Fulham completed the signing of 30-year-old Fabri from Besiktas today with the Turkish club looking to the Premier League as his replacement.
According to a Daily Mail report, the Spaniard signed a three-year deal with the Premier League new boys with the option for a fourth year at the end.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Fabri declared this was his moment in time:
“I’m delighted to be at an historic club like Fulham, the oldest club in London. I’m very happy to have the opportunity to be in the Premier League with Fulham.
“Everything is very positive for me and I want to take the opportunity to make the most of this goal of being in the Premier League.”
The Spaniard came to the club’s attention via goalkeeping coach Jose Sambade Carreira who worked with the player at Deportivo La Coruna.
It leaves Besiktas to step up their search for a replacement with rumours placing Arsenal cup goalkeeper David Ospina at the top of their list.
The 29-year-old Colombian failed to usurp Petr Cech, 36, as the Gunners #1 and with a year left on his contract, is set to leave the Emirates for a nominal fee this summer following the arrival of Bernd Leno, 25, from Bayer Leverkusen last month.
