Manchester City might part ways with Leroy Sane during the January transfer window. The Germany international is rehabbing from an injury, but that might not be enough to keep him at the Etihad Stadium for a long period of time.

According to several reports, Bayern Munich remain interested in signing the 23-year-old Germany international. And knowing Manchester City, they would aim to replace him if he leaves… apparently, with a Bayern player.

Sky Sports News have reported Manchester City are looking at Kingsley Coman as a potential replacement if Sane joins Bayern Munich. In other words, this might very well end up being a player-per-player swap. Coman would move to England, while Sane would return to Germany.

This might end up being benefitial for both sides. Sane would represent an upgrade compared to Coman given his scoring ability — something that’s essential for Bayern’s wingers — while Coman’s pace would allow him to thrive at the Premier League level.

Coman, who has previously played for PSG and Juventus before joining Bayern, has made 139 appearances for the Bundesliga giants in all competitions. Even though he’s not known for his scoring ability, he already has 28 goals to his name.

Meanwhile, Sane joined City from Schalke 04 three years ago. The 23-year-old winger has found the back of the net 39 times in 134 matches.
