James Maddison has once again been linked with Manchester United, with the Leicester star reportedly topping their January transfer wishlist.
It’s not a secret that Manchester United have suffered this season, particularly on the attacking end. The team lacks creativity and the absence of Paul Pogba, who is going to miss Sunday’s match against Liverpool, hasn’t helped either. The team needs reinforcements, and they have identified Maddison as the club’s priority.
The former Norwich star has been thriving at Leicester ever since he joined The Foxes last season. He has been so good that he already got a much-deserved England call-up this year, and all signs point towards Maddison continuing as an important England player. Based on this scenario, it doesn’t surprise to see Manchester United being interested in the 22-year-old playmaker.
However, Leicester might not want to part ways with his up-and-coming star. They already sent Harry Maguire to Manchester United this past summer, and they wouldn’t be pleased to sell another one of their top players to Old Trafford once again.
It has been rumoured that Leicester would ask around £80million to part ways with Maddison. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has two goals and two assists in seven Premier League appearances this season.
