Aston Villa are reeling from the news that Chelsea are willing to sell striker Tammy Abraham according to talkSPORT.

The 21-year-old has 16 goals in 20 Championship appearances propelled the Birmingham-based club to the fringes of the promotion race. However, two draws in the past two games saw them drop to 10th in the table despite Abraham scoring three times against Queen’s Park Rangers and Preston North End.

Last season saw Abraham endure a dismal spell in front of goal with just five goals in 31 games on loan at Swansea City as the Welsh club succumbed to relegation. Abraham’s form last season earned him two England caps, making his debut in 2017’s goalless draw with Germany.

This season, his finishing has drawn the attention of Premier League clubs Burnley, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Fulham and Huddersfield Town. Chelsea have the option to cancel his current loan deal in January and are prepared to do so if a firm offer comes in for the prolific striker.

It’s understood Abraham is open to leaving Villa this month to return to the Premier League arises, whether it is permanent or on loan. For Villa boss Dean Smith, it’s the worst possible Christmas present possible.
