Manchester United have won their two matches under the tutelage of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but the Norwegian tactician is keen to bolster the team’s attacking depth during the upcoming January transfer window. And the former striker apparently has one name on his agenda.

According to reports coming out of Italy, Manchester United are keen to make a move for Douglas Costa and in fact, it is believed that The Red Devils have made a £54 million offer for the talented Juventus winger. This isn’t the first time the Brazilian gets linked with an Old Trafford move, however, since it happened before when the winger was with Bayern Munich.

This time, it seems the Old Trafford side has reignited their interest and the idea would be to sign him during the winter, instead of waiting until the end of the current season. The idea would be to have Costa on the squad for the second part of the 2018/19 campaign.

This season, Costa has made 13 Serie A appearances for Juventus but is not a first-team regular on an attacking line that has plenty of competition for a spot on the wings. In fact, he’s yet to score a goal for the Bianconeri side this season, and apparently he would be open to play elsewhere.

The former Shakhtar star, 28, could depart the reigning Serie A champions if they receive a fee closer to £70 million.
