talkSPORT claims that fallen Italian giants AC Milan are ready to raid Anfield for Brazilian star Fabinho.
The Liverpool star failed to set Anfield alight following his dramatic move from AS Monaco in the summer. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp signed the £40m midfielder following the horror injury suffered by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as the club closed on last season’s Champions League final.
However, Fabinho failed to feature in the Reds opening matches and has made just four appearances in the Premier League to date, only three of which were starts. It’s raised questions about his long-term future at the club, particularly as Oxlade-Chamberlain is due to return to the first team for the start of next season.
The 25-year-old made his name under Leonardo Jardim at Monaco taking a starring role as the club soared to the top of the French league. One of the few who didn’t desert the club following their stunning Champions League run in 2016-17, Fabinho made 233 appearances for the Monegasque which led to seven caps for his country.
Milan looking to revitalise their fortunes under its’ new American owners. While the club lacks the funds to make an audacious bid for the midfielder, they hope Liverpool will be amenable to a six-month loan spell with the Serie A outfit.
Gennaro Gattuso benefits from the arrival of former Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis and his extensive contact book. This could be the first of many Premier League raids as the Rossoneri look to reacquaint themselves with the upper echelons of the Serie A table and the Champions League.
