The 18-year-old Boca Juniors midfielder Augustin Almendra has sounded off transfer alarms with many a Europe’s top club this winter.
The talented teenager burst onto the scene earlier in 2018 with his senior debut at the Argentine heavyweights and went on to emerge a key figure in his club’s Copa Libertadores run.
The likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Juventus were all said to be keeping an eye on the youngster but the Italian media report that Napoli have joined the pack.
The Partenopei sports director Cristiano Giuntoli has taken the matters into his own hands by opening transfer negotiations with the Argentine heavyweights, it is being reported.
Napoli have offered €15 million in an attempt to acquire his services but Almendra which is €3 million shorter than his release clause.
Talks will continue throughout the winter as Partenopei hope to secure the deal for this extremely talented midfielder.
