FC Barcelona are set to undergo massive changes during the upcoming summer. And there’s a big chance the 2019-20 squad could look quite different from the one that won the Liga title this campaign.
Having signed Frenkie de Jong and being reportedly close to agree a deal to acquire Matthijs de Ligt, there are also several news regarding players that are set to leave Los Blaugranas this summer.
Two names that are set to leave the club are Jeison Murillo and Kevin-Prince Boateng; both joined the side during the January transfer window but barely saw action. Rafinha and Thomas Vermaelen are also expected to leave the club given their recent injury problems that plagued them all year long.
Douglas, Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez are not expected to return to the side, either. All three spent the 2018-19 season on loan, and Ernesto Valverde does not want them back for the upcoming campaign, either. Gomes and Suarez have caught the eye of several Premier League clubs.
As if that wasn’t enough, the list of names that could depart this summer also includes Jasper Cillessen, Samuel Umtiti, Malcom, Ivan Rakitic, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembélé. At least two or three of these players will leave the club to gain fresh funds in order to improve the squad on both sides of the ball in the coming months.
