Once the current season ends, James Rodriguez will have to decide what is he going to do with his career.
Currently in the final year of a two-season loan spell at Bayern Munich, the Colombia international will return to Real Madrid ahead of the 2019-20 season and it remains to be seen whether he will have enough spaces at Los Merengues or not. But since recent reports have indicated that he longer has a space on the squad, chances are he will be playing elsewhere by the time the next season comes around.
One of the potential destinations for the Colombian, according to recent reports in Italy, could be Napoli. The Partenopei side has a plethora of attacking options in the squad, but they don’t have a player that could fill James’ role. The 27-year-old can operate all over the attacking third, and that versatility could help Napoli considerably.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men won’t be alone on the race to sign him, though, as Juventus have also been keen to sign him, especially since Cristiano Ronaldo wants to play with the Colombian once again. But it’s not a secret that he would have an easier time cracking the starting XI at Napoli as opposed to Juventus.
Regardless of what happens, there’s no question this will be an interesting summer for the Colombian star.
