Valencia and FC Barcelona are two of the biggest sides in La Liga. Maybe that’s why it’s so odd to see them not only making businesses among both sides, but also swapping goalkeepers. Jasper Cillessen will now become Valencia’s most likely option between the posts, while Neto will be a composed, experienced backup behind Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

In fact, Valencia have confirmed on their official website that they have reached an agreement over the transfer of Norberto Murara – more commonly known as Neto. The timing of the move, however, seems a bit off.

The two clubs only yesterday made it public that they had reached an agreement over the transfer of Jasper Cillessen to Valencia for €35 million, but now it turns out there will be a goalkeeper moving in the other direction as well. Neto certainly fits what Barcelona want to do, though. He’s excellent with his feet and is coming off a great year with Los Che.

At least on paper, it seems the move could benefit both sides. Cillessen will get the first-team minutes he clearly deserved, while Neto should be a good goalkeeper for Barcelona, even if he ends up limited to play solely on Copa del Rey matches.
