One of the top players in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League – and dare to say it, one of the best in Europe’s second-tier leagues – is Anderlecht’s defensive midfielder Leander Dendoncker. However, the 23-year-old defensive specialist might not remain with the club for a long period of time.

According to several reports in Belgium’s local media, there are a number of LaLiga sides that have expressed interest in the Anderlecht star that can play either as a centre-back or as a defensive midfielder. Dendoncker has shown a great potential over the past few years, and is now being linked with a big-club move.

Real Betis are reportedly leading the race to sign him, as Los Verdiblancos see him as the perfect addition for their European campaign next season. However, Betis will have fierce competition to add him since Sevilla, Villarreal, Atletico Madrid and even West Ham United have shown interest as well. Even Manchester United were linked with a move for him a few months ago, but that interest has cooled off of late.

Dendoncker has registered 27 appearances in the Belgian Pro League and 40 across all competitions during the current term. He is under contract until June 2021, however, so whoever team that wants to sign him will have to put a big offer to convince Anderlecht to part ways with their star player.
