AC Milan swung and missed badly on the pursuit of an attacker during the past summer. Even though they signed two decent players in Andre Silva and Nikola Kalinic, neither has proven to be the solution to the team’s scoring woes. And while Patrick Cutrone has been decent this season, the team needs a reliable, proven player for the upcoming season.
If the reports from Tuttosport are true, then Milan have already set their sights on a striker since they are open to make a move for Sevilla’s Luis Muriel. The Colombian striker hasn’t had the kind of season he expected at Sanchez Pizjuan, and would welcome a return to the Serie A with open arms.
And the fact that the Rossoneri side could offload both Andre Silva and Nikola Kalinic in the summer puts even more pressure on a potential move. If these two players leave, it would mean that Patrick Cutrone is the only striker in the squad ahead of the 2018-19 season.
Other names that have been mentioned as potential reinforcements are Andrea Belotti or Edin Dzeko, but both would be extremely expensive. And it’s not like Muriel doesn’t know the Serie A either since he has already played for Lecce, Udinese and Sampdoria, scoring a total of 43 league goals in Italy.
Muriel has just seven goals in 26 Liga outings for Sevilla during the current term.
