Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, 27, is close to agreeing his next move according to Sky Italia, but two of Italy’s biggest clubs are already priced out of the market.

The Wales international is being allowed to run down his current contract after the Gunners pulled the plug on negotiations over a new deal. Leaving on a free transfer provides Ramsey with the opportunity for a substantial pay increase.

It’s claimed that the Milanese clubs baulked at meeting his £9m annual salary demand. Both AC Milan and Internazionale Milano continue to struggle to comply with UEFA’s FFP regulations; neither can bring Ramsey on-board at present.

Interest in Ramsey isn’t diminishing, however. Juventus and Bayern Munich lead the way with both clubs keen on strengthening their squads for tilts at the Champions League. Talks can officially take place between his representatives and non-English clubs from 1st January.

Even though he is in his final season at the club, Ramsey’s commitment is unquestioned by anyone at Arsenal. Despite being a regular substitute, the Welshman accumulated six assisted and one goal in the 15 Premier League appearance so far this season. Only Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 29, and Alexandre Lacazette, 27, contributed more.

Those numbers make the Gunners decision to release him all the more surprising. Foreign suitors are queueing up to take advantage as the north London club loses a player who was arguably the best signing of Arsene Wenger’s Emirates years.
