The transfer window might be closed but that’s no reason to think some of the top teams in the world will stop scouting alternatives to bolster their current squads. Such is the case with reigning French champions, Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ligue 1 giants have been linked with several players, but it is not a secret that they remain interested in making a move for FC Barcelona star, and Croatia international, Ivan Rakitic. Despite the player’s negative response to a potential move, PSG still believe they can make a play for the former Sevilla star.

In fact, Les Parisiens reportedly offered €90 million to acquire the services of the highly-rated midfielder, but the offer wasn’t accepted and Rakitic rejected the move either way. He wanted to remain at Camp Nou, and it seems that hasn’t changed.

The 30-year-old is yet to sign a contract extension with Barcelona and PSG will try to exploit that in order to make a potential run at him. It remains to be seen if it will work or not, but we do know one thing is certain: PSG won’t rest until they sign who they want. Even if they receive a negative answer the first time they make an approach.
