Manchester United are keen to strengthen their right-back heading into the 2019/20 season, and club officials have already identified a player linked with an Old Trafford switch as a “priority” for the upcoming season.

According to recent reports, both Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Thomas Meunier have been heavily linked with a potential Manchester United move this summer. And while the 21-year-old Crystal Palace star checks all the boxes, instead United want to move for the 27-year-old PSG defender instead.

Meunier would add lots of things to the side – size, strength, experience, and stability to the position. Plus, he would be considerable cheaper in comparison to Wan-Bissaka since Palace are asking for a hefty transfer fee in case they decide to part ways with their star defender. Meunier’s case is different since he has set his sights on leaving PSG this summer.

Plus, the French giants are ready to sell several players this summer – they need to comply with the Fair Play Financial Rules, but they’re also looking to sign one or two star players. Considering Dani Alves is not going anywhere, Meunier’s best alternative is to leave PSG since otherwise, he won’t have much playing time. And he’s said time and time again that he wants to play regularly. Will he get that chance at Manchester United?
