Things are getting complicated between Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho in Manchester United, and a potential exit from the France international hasn’t been ruled out. As a result, The Red Devils are already looking at alternatives in case the former Juventus star leaves the team this upcoming summer.

And according to a report from the Mirror, The Red Devils are set to re-open talks with Nice since they are interested to sign midfielder Jean Michael Seri once again. The 26-year-old Ivory Coast international was a reported target for several top clubs this past summer, but in the end he stayed in the Ligue 1.

Seri would undoubtedly fit quite well at United since he can perform as a deep-lying playmaker, the same role that United want Pogba to fulfill. Obviously Seri is not the same kind of all-around impact performer than Pogba, but there is no question he can be a reliable replacement if the chance arises.

The problems with Pogba began with the arrival of Alexis Sanchez since he reportedly wanted an increase on his wages, and apparently his attitude hasn’t been very good since he has started from the substitutes’ bench in two of the team’s last four matches. As a result, the 24-year-old French starlet would be open to consider an exit from Old Trafford for the second time in his young career.

Seri’s box-to-box nature is “the type of which Mourinho spoke at length recently when discussing Pogba and what traits the modern-day midfielder must embody.” The Ivorian has a £35 million buyout clause, and United sent scouts to monitor his play in a Europa League match earlier this month.
