One of the best strikers in the Bundesliga might either change teams or move to another country in the coming months. We are talking about Timo Werner, as the RB Leipzig star could leave the club with both Bayern Munich and Liverpool reportedly keen on the Germany international.
Werner has been on the radar of some of the biggest teams in the world for quite a while now, and for good reason. Despite being only 22, Werner has already become the starting striker for the Germany national team, and all signs indicate he is ready to take the next step in his career.
Both Bayern Munich and Liverpool are open to make a January approach for the striker and even though both clubs have reliable alternatives upfront, both could very well add Werner into the mix going forward. Bayern need to find a potential long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, while Liverpool do not have a natural “9” but has been playing Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah on that role.
Werner has scored 44 goals in 78 league appearances for Leipzig since arriving from Stuttgart. He only has 18 months left on his current deal and, if he doesn’t leave the club in January, he could certainly do it once the current 2018/19 season comes to an end.
