PSG are coming off an impressive 7-1 win over Celtic in the UEFA Champions League, but they remain one of the most active teams when it comes to adding potential reinforcements during the upcoming January transfer window.
The Ligue 1 giants have been linked with a shocking move for Manchester United’s midfielder Marouane Fellaini, but he’s not the only player they are targeting. PSG are also keen to sign Alexis Sanchez during the first month of 2018, and are willing to send Julian Draxler on loan to Liverpool in an effort to free some much-needed cap space on their books.
The 28-year-old Chilean star has been on top form of late, and he registered a goal in Arsenal‘s 2-0 huge win over Tottenham this past weekend. Sanchez has endured an inconsistent start to the season, but PSG feel the Chilean can be the missing piece on an attacking line that already features an insane amount of quality in names such as Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Edinson Cavani.
Draxler, on the other hand, might be forced to settle for a secondary role in PSG given the impressive form of the aforementioned trio. And knowing playing time will be key to secure a place in Germany’s World Cup squad, Draxler would be strongly considering a move to the Premier League. For what is worth, this is not the first time Draxler has been mentioned as a potential departure from PSG since his name has been on the rumour mill since the first day Neymar joined the side.
Liverpool has emerged as Draxler’s first choice, as The Reds love his versatility and see him as an upgrade over options such as Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge.
Everything will be settled during the January transfer window. But don’t be surprised if PSG end up adding another star player to their star-studded attacking line, even if that means letting another of their assets go out on loan.
