Andrea Belotti To Stay At Torino Despite Premier League Interest

One of the top strikers in the Serie A over the past 12 months was set to leave for a bigger club, but eventually remained in his current club and now there is talk of him signing a potential contract extension. In case you have not realised, we are talking Andrea Belotti from Torino.

The 23-year-old striker was one of the top scoring threats in Italy last season, as he contributed with 26 goals in 35 Serie A appearances for Torino. His performances turned several heads and Chelsea were reportedly interested to sign him. However, a recent report from Calciomercato has indicated that Belotti is not going anywhere – at least for the foreseeable future.

The Blues held serious talks with Torino, but were reluctant to invest €100 million for him. And the Serie A side indicated Belotti is not going to leave for anything less than that number. Both Chelsea and AC Milan are still tracking the striker, but it has been reported he could now sign a new contract at Torino that will pay him €3 million per year.

Belotti has looked impressive with the Italy national team as well, registering four goals in 11 caps with Gli Azzurri. If he continues to progress, there is no question he could be even more expensive after the 2018 World Cup. So all signs indicate Torino are set to cash out on their star striker, and it might happen sooner than later.
