Real Betis have made an impressive signing this week, as they have acquired one of the best players from the French Ligue 1. We’re talking about Nabil Fekir.
The Olympique Lyon star, who was linked with moves to either Liverpool and Manchester City in recent months, will end up moving to Spain since Betis have completed a move to sign him. Los Verdiblancos will pay Lyon close to €20 million, but there will also several add-ons that could increase the value of the transfer.
It’s worth noting that Lyon will also reap benefits from a potential future transfer, since the Ligue 1 giants will keep receive 20 percent of any future transfer. Which, given Fekir’s upside and talent, could happen sooner than later.
Nabil Fekir won’t join Betis alone, however, as the Liga side has also acquired Nabil’s brother, Yassin Fekir, on the same deal. Lyon will retain 50 percent of the latter’s value on a future transfer, however.
Los Verdiblancos have made some interesting signings over the past few years. And while names such as Junior Firpo and Giovani Lo Celso seem set to leave the club this summer, adding someone like Fekir could very well change how European player see Betis going forward.
