Sevilla Inching Closer To Sign Nolito From Manchester City

Sevilla are about to get a big boost on their attacking line ahead of next season.

According to the Spanish’s club president, Los Nervionenses are closing in on the signing for Manchester City‘s unsettled forward Nolito. The former Spain international is keen on returning to LaLiga after a disappointing first season in the Premier League where he was frustrated by the lack of playing time.

Sevilla are not the only team interested in Nolito, however, as Real Betis and his former team Celta Vigo have also enquired about the winger’s availability. Nolito is under contract with The Citizens until 2020 so the most likely deal would be a loan with a future buy-option. And it seems Sevilla have made the most progress to land him.

In fact, MARCA reported that Sevilla already reached an agreement with Nolito, but have yet to agree with Manchester City on the transfer fee.

Nolito was one of the top players in Spain during the 2015-16 season, where he registered 12 goals and seven assists in 27 starts for Celta. But he only featured 19 appearances across all competitions for City last season, and also lost his place in the Spain squad.

With the 2018 World Cup looming closer, Nolito needs to get back to his best shape if he wants to be considered for La Roja. And going back home seems the best way to do so.
