It seems the transfer saga surrounding Emre Can is not going to stop any time soon.

The talented Liverpool midfielder, who is likely to represent Germany during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, will be a free agent once the current season ends since he did not want to extend his current tenure with the Merseyside club. And the rumours regarding his next destination have not stopped.

Juventus have always been mentioned as a possibility, and it seems they remain as front-runners in the race to acquire him. But both Real Madrid and Manchester City are hot on the trail of the defensive midfielder, according to a report from Tuttosport.

In fact, the presence of both The Citizens and Los Blancos in Can’s sweepstakes could make pundits believe that The Old Lady are no longer the favourites to sign him. Even though they are one of the richest clubs in the world, both Real Madrid and Manchester City have deeper pockets and could offer him a substantial increase on his wages.

At this stage, it seems any of the three teams could secure a move for him. The player himself clearly hopes this competition between clubs could land him a lucrative deal, and right now we just have to wait to see where he will end up.

The 24-year-old has made 115 Premier League appearances, scoring 10 goals, since joining The Reds from Leverkusen roughly four years ago.
