Reigning Ligue 1 champions PSG have been linked with several players over the past few months, although one of the team’s priorities is to bolster their central-midfield depth. Especially if Adrien Rabiot ends up leaving the side.
However, the French giants have reportedly found their candidate to replace the France international. According to a recent report from L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the possibility of signing Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Serbian star has been a wanted man for quite a while now, but there’s a chance PSG are not willing to meet Lazio’s demands since the Serie A side reportedly wants at least £62 million to start talks for the holding midfielder. Plus, PSG also must consider their stance regarding the Financial Fair Play rules because they already have several issues in that department.
PSG already signed Argentina international Leandro Paredes during the past January transfer window, but there’s no question Milinkovic-Savic would represent an upgrade over the former Zenit player. Plus, the Serbia international would add some much-needed physicality to the side in midfield due to his towering build.
Milinkovic-Savic, 24, was a regular fixture on Lazio’s starting XI during the 2018-19 Serie A season, registering five goals and three assists in 31 league appearances.
