Well.. this is a sketchy situation.

PSG star Adrien Rabiot has apparently reached an agreement with FC Barcelona over an upcoming transfer that would send the talented central midfielder to Spain, but Los Blaugranas have apparently denied that motion.

According to a report from Spanish-based outlet Sport, Barca rejected any notion of them reaching any kind of agreement with the 23-year-old French midfielder who seems set to leave PSG once the current season ends.

While it’s true that the LaLiga holders tried to sign Rabiot during the summer, their attempts weren’t successful and they ended acquiring the likes of Arthur and Arturo Vidal. But with Rabiot set to be out of contract in a few months, Barca could very well talk to him and convince him to go to Catalunya.

The problem? That could be considered as tampering, something that’s illegal according to FIFA standards. That’s why Barca were so quick to deny the existence of any potential talk between them and the French international.

With Rabiot unwilling to sign a new deal with PSG, it seems he’s just waiting for the best offer to arrive. But Barca do not want to get into any kind of legal problem. They might be extremely interested to talk with Rabiot, but they’ll continue to deny it. At least until January, because that’s when he will be elegible to speak with teams over a new transfer as a free agent.
