Manchester United have made at least two formal bids to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid, and both attempts have been denied. However, the third time might be the charm for the Old Trafford outfit.

According to a report from Mirror, Manchester United could finally land the Welsh winger during next summer because Madrid have grown tired of Bale’s injury problems over the past few years. In fact, the winger is currently sidelined due to a calf injury, and has not been able to make the impact the club wants out of one their highest-earning players.

In fact, the Mirror report indicated that Madrid “have grown tired of Bale’s ongoing injury problems and are believed to be ready to offload the Wales star.”

The 28-year-old is under contract at the Bernabeu until 2022, though, so that might be a problem. Even though Bale is not the superstar he was a few years ago, he is still one of the best wingers in Europe when healthy, and Old Trafford chiefs will likely have to spend  a lot of money if they want to acquire him. Madrid are likely to recover as much as possible of the £85 million fee they paid for him.

All signs indicate Bale’s time in Madrid is coming to an end. And Manchester is reportedly waiting for him with arms wide open.
