Juventus are coming off an impressive season in which they won the Serie A title and reached the UEFA Champions League final. However, the Italian giants do not want to settle, and they are already testing the transfer market to find potential upgrades ahead of next season.

One area the team is keen to improve is the midfield, as Massimiliano Allegri lacks depth behind Sami Khedira and Miralem Pjanic. And according to a report from MARCA, The Old Lady have expressed their interest to sign Steven N’Zonzi from Sevilla.

N’Zonzi was one of Sevilla’s best players last season, and there have been lots of rumours about him leaving the Sanchez Pizjuan outfit this summer. But Juventus are the first club to make their intentions public, and there is no doubt he would be a quality signing for them. His arrival would improve the side drastically, and he could easily become a regular starter from day one.

The former Stoke City midfielder has a €40 million release clause, and Juventus would not have problems meeting that amount. It could end up being quite a bargain if their other targets – such as Marco Verratti – demand nearly €100 million on a potential transfer fee.

MARCA also reported N’Zonzi would agree with the move to Juventus Stadium, but the talks have not advanced past the initial interest.

N’Zonzi was ever present for Sevilla last season, featuring in 46 games for Sevilla across all competitions. He contributed with three goals and three assists.
