Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri is once again touted to leave the Allianz Riviera next summer with Manchester United in the frame as a new home, according to the Daily Mail.

The 26-year-old Ivory Coast international was heavily tipped to join Arsenal or Barcelona last summer, with claims that the Catalans agreed terms on his signing. However, he remains firmly ensconced on the Riviera despite his own personal preference for a move to the Camp Nou.

Nice are heading toward the Europa League exit while they struggle domestically, languishing in mid-table after last season’s title challenge. With Paris St-Germain romping home in Ligue Un, the European places are up for grabs. Nice however, are 14 points adrift of the final Europa League place, currently occupied by Lyon.

United’s chief scout Marcel Bout watched Seri during the recent derby with Monaco, repeating the mission during Nice’s 3 – 2 home defeat to Lokomotiv Moscow this week.

It’s understopod that Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his midfield with Michael Carrick retiring and 29-year-old Marouane Fellaini headed for the Old Trafford exit having failed to agree a new deal with the Red Devils.

With the English transfer window curtailed, United will be grateful in this instance that the Ivory Coast failed to qualify for Russia 2018, making negotiations less intense than they might otherwise be.
