Paris Saint-Germain know they will likely lose Neymar before the transfer period comes to an end in September 2nd. However, the Ligue 1 giants know the kind of player they want to receive in return for the Brazilian star.
According to a report from French outlet L’Equipe, the Ligue 1 reigning champions want former Dortmund star Ousmane Dembele plus cash to send the former Santos star back to the Camp Nou. Philippe Coutinho was also mentioned as a potential for a swap, but PSG have set their sights on the Frenchman due to his age and upside.
It would be interesting to see Dembele playing at PSG. He has not been able to thrive at Barcelona because of his failure to sync with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, but he would face a similar situation at PSG since he would be playing alongside the likes of Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe.
Dembele can be productive when he gets the chance, though. Even though injuries have slowed him down since he joined Barcelona, he’s still an elite player. But the Frenchman has repeatedly said he does not want to be part of any swap deal involving Neymar, so Barca would have to convince him to move to PSG. Can they make that happen before September 2nd?
