Tottenham Hotspur have not been signing players in the last year, but this summer it looks like the Champions League finalists could be going all in. After signing a quality midfielder in Tanguy Ndombele, it looks like Spurs could also try and sign their former player Gareth Bale.
Marca are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are open to spending as much as €60m to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer. The Wales international has been struggling at Santiago Bernabeu for years now. It is a well known fact that Zinedine Zidane does not see Bale at Madrid any more and the club are also open to selling him this summer.
However, with his huge wages, that is going to be tough. Marca report that Spurs can pay €60m, but they cannot spend on his wages as much as Real Madrid. Apparently, Tottenham could only pay for half of his current wages and that has been the factor why other clubs have not picked up Bale. Still, Bale’s agent is insisting that rumours that Spurs have made the bid for the player are not true.
At least not yet.
