Fenerbahce are close to completing a loan deal for Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic, according to talkSPORT.
With Serbia qualifying for next summer’s 2018 World Cup finals in Russia, the 21-year-old schemer is keen to find first-team football to further his cause for inclusion in the squad.
Jurgen Klopp believes in the youngster and is only willing to allow him to move on a loan deal. The German signed the Serb from Red Star Belgrade in 2016 when Grujic was courted by a host of Europe’s elite clubs.
Since joining Liverpool, the youngster has made just a handful of first-team appearances and is aware that it is hurting his chances of adding to his four caps for Serbia. His agent Zoran Stojadinovic reportedly said that Grujic is keen to avoid becoming another Lazar Markovic.
recently said his client needs to join another club on loan in January because he doesn’t want a situation like his compatriot Lazar Markovic. The winger is on his third loan spell since joining the Merseyside club in 2014.
Fenerbahce’s manager Aykut Kocaman is reported by the Turkish media to be keen on a new creative force in his midfield. The club looked at Davy Klaassen, 24, before he joined Everton last summer but are keen to take Grujic on an 18-month loan deal with a €5m right-to-buy at the end of it.
