Manchester City are set to bid £17m for Torino full back Bruno Peres, 26.
Pep Guardiola is overhauling the City back line which is held as the main reason the club failed to challenge for the Premier League title last season.
The Brazilian right back is seen as the ideal replacement for French international Bacary Sagna, 33, who will be retained as experienced cover for the newcomer.
Sagna, set to feature for his country against Portugal in tonight’s Euro 2016 final, joined City from Arsenal two years ago but has made just 37 Premier League appearances in that time.
Guardiola is also looking at Wolfsburg’s left back Ricardo Rodriguez, 23. The Swiss international has attracted attention from Arsenal already this summer but is seen as the ideal replacement for 31 year-old Uruguayan, Pablo Zabaleta and Aleksandar Kolarov, 30, both of whom are expected to leave the Etihad in this transfer window.
Meanwhile, the Spanish media are speculating that England goalkeeper Joe Hart, 29, is facing a fight for his future. A poor Euro 2016 campaign ended with Hart carrying the blame for Iceland’s winning goal as England slumped out of the tournament.
Guardiola, Mundo Deportivo report, is looking at bringing Barcelona’s Claudio Bravo, 33, in as a short-term replacement whilst he seeks a more permanent solution.
