The Christian Eriksen stories just keep coming. After a summer full of links with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur, that talk has not ended now that the season is in full swing. Marca are reporting that Real Madrid are willing to pay a fee of around £25 million in order to sign Denmark international during the January transfer window.
The reason for such a fee would be that Eriksen’s contract is getting towards its end in June 2020 and Real Madrid want to be sure they will sign the player they want so badly. This way, Spurs would be enticed to accept the offer and get the fee, instead of risk losing the transfer fee income if the player runs his contract down.
Eriksen clearly believes that a move away from Tottenham is going to be best for the development of his career, but even with that being the case, this potential deal is still far from happening.
