It is not a secret that Arsenal have been looking to add some much-needed explosiveness to their squad. They failed to acquire Thomas Lemar during the summer transfer window, but that does not mean The Gunners have given up on the transfer market.

The French international remains a top target for Arsene Wenger, but is not the manager’s only option. Several reports around Europe have confirmed that Arsenal are also keen to sign Hirving Lozano, a Mexican winger currently playing for Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven.

In fact, it is believed that Arsenal are set to offer PSV a figure around €25 million to sign the Mexico international. It would be quite a move for the Dutch club, as they signed Lozano from Liga MX side Pachuca only a few months ago paying €8M for his services.

Lozano would certainly become an interesting signing for Arsenal. He is better suited to play as a winger, although he is adept to move on either flank. But he is also talented enough to move into a central role, similar to what Mesut Özil currently does for Arsenal. And if we add to the equation that Özil and Alexis Sanchez might leave the club sooner than later, Lozano then would become an interesting building block for the future of the club.

The 22-year-old Lozano has won 19 caps and scored three goals for El Tri throughout his career.
