Manchester United have been targeting young players in the past few years, and it seems that tendency is not going to end any time soon.
With caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saying the team is not looking to sign big-name players this summer, they could very well target up-and-coming players who seem ready to take the next step their careers. And one of the names that would fit the criteria is none other than Fulham’s highly rated left winger Ryan Sessegnon.
The talented winger, who can also operate as a left-back, has been linked with several Top 6 sides over the past 12 months, but the Express believe The Red Devils are leading the race now. They’re suggesting that United are planning on spending £50m to land the highly-rated prospect, who’s not willing to sign a new deal with the Craven Cottage side.
The 18-year-old versatile player does not want to sign a new deal before getting enough clarity of what’s going to happen with Fulham and considering the side seems ticketed to lose their top-flight status just one year after promotion, it makes sense for Sessegnon to try and find options elsewhere.
Considering Sessegnon has not able to become a regular starter for Fulham under the tutelage of Claudio Ranieri, all signs indicate he could be headed for an exit this summer. Will Manchester United take advantage of that, in order to add another talented prospect to their already impressive squad?
