Paris Saint-Germain have not found it easy to lose in the Champions League round of 16 yet again. The wealthy Parisian club is angry after a terrible outing against Manchester United in the midweek and thus their plans for the new season have began.
According to Marca, PSG are already setting their sights on Madrid, and more specifically Atletico. Club’s chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi is interested in signing Jan Oblak this summer! The 26-year old goalkeeper has been incredible for Diego Simeone’s side for the past five years and has established himself at the very top end of world’s best goalkeepers.
PSG could be especially eager to sign him after Gianluigi Buffon’s stint has not reaped rewards and in previous years it looked like the Slovenian goalkeeper and Atletico have not been in ideal relationship. If that is the case this summer as well, then PSG might splash the money for Oblak’s signature.
He has a release clause of £85 million, a fee PSG could definitely pay. Only the FFP could be a problem.
