Just nine months on from moving to the Chinese Super League, Oscar is talking up a return to English football. The Brazilian international moved to Shanghai SIPG from Chelsea in January and the 26-year-old would have no qualms about returning to Stamford Bridge in the “near future”, according to the Evening Standard.
The football world was shocked when Chelsea accepted a £60m for the talented midfielder earlier this year and amazed when Oscar moved to Shanghai. He is currently one of a trio of Brazilians in the Chinese city, Hulk and Elkeson the other two.
Speaking in the Brazilian media he declared was “still young” which mean that he could return to England in “two or three years’ time”.
Oscar claimed that the door was still open for him at Stamford Bridge but having left because of limited first team opportunities, he would face the same problem now. While his heart might tell him to try to get back to Chelsea, his head would surely be saying otherwise.
With four games of the current Chinese Super League remaining, Shanghai are all but assured of second place. Whether Oscar will collect any other medals during his time in China is another matter.
