Daley Blind might not remain as a Manchester United player for a long time.
The Dutch versatile defender started the season as a starter, but has struggled to hold down a regular place under Jose Mourinho of late, and did not play in any of the team’s last four Premier League matches. Ashley Young has settled as the starter at left-back since returning from injury, and this means Blind has seen his role disminished over the past few weeks.
In fact, things could get worse for the former Ajax star, as he could be made expendable during the upcoming transfer window.
According to a report from TalkSport, the Dutch international could be offered an escape route if the situation continues. And Turkish Super League giants Fenerbahce are reportedly interested to acquire him during the January transfer window. Fenerbahce certainly have enough resources to make a strong push for the defender.
However, Fenerbahce could face stiff competition to secure the services of the 27-year-old. Blind is regarded as a versatile player who can fulfill a number of roles defensively, and several Premier League sides could express interest for his services as Blind continues his search for first-team football.
Blind joined Manchester United in 2014, and has gone to make 131 first-team appeareances for Manchester United scoring five goals and dishing out 10 assists.
