FC Barcelona are a team that always try to look towards the future. Their scouting network is on 24/7 as officials and scouts always try to find the “next best talent” or “the nbext big thing” in world football, in an effort to strengthen the squad in both the short-term and long-term scenario.

With that in mind, Los Blaugranas have set their sights on one of the most prolific strikers in the Serie A during the opening weeks of the 2018/19 season. We are talking about Krzysztof Piątek.

For those who don’t know him, Piątek is a 23-year-old striker who currently plays for Genoa in Italy’s top flight. He grabbed headlines all over Europe in his side’s first match during the 2018/19 Coppa Italia, as he scored FOUR goals against Lecce, but he hasn’t stopped there.

He also has three goals in two Serie A matches during the current term. No wonder why some pundits are already calling him the “new Robert Lewandowski”. He already for a call-up to the Poland national team, so that’s a step in the right direction.

At 23, he has a lot of room to grow and several areas to improve. But Barca are looking to move quicker than anyone else and will try to sign him as early as possible, as they already view him as the perfect long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.
